after looting it. They shot several civilians here  "for no reason at all" as my friends told me. At Sivry  I learned from several sources that the Germans had shot some children including a little girl  who offered a "scone" to an English prisoner. They shot her on the spot.

Marched to Florennes.   It rained for most of the journey. The 14th & 15th Bns stayed at Phillipville [Philippeville]. Along the track were a great many German motor lorries & transport gear. Here we have comfortable billets but the men are somewhat cramped for space
