were also on the move in the direction of Chaleroi some of them having come great distances with baggage of all description. Very little traffic was on the Cantillon road but after walking as far as Bazuel we secured a French lorry driver by Madagassan which took us to Catillon. We arrived chez-Delatte just as they were participating of their Xmas dinner but having eaten a tin of bully at Bazuel we refused to eat with them despite the protestations of Madame & mademoiselles. Monsieur is a martyr to rheumatism & many other complaints & in prewar days held the affluent position of village baker. After
