In accordance with the advance between Bray & Cappy the 9th Batt, to whom I was attached on the morning of the 25th advanced their line to the sunken road running South of Cappy so that I had to advance my two rear guns along the canal bank & get them into position to watch the Cappy road & the spur towards Orchard Wood. He shelled heavily as we moved up & one of his machine guns (afterwards located in a tree) warmed us up as we were getting into position, which we nevertheless did without casualties.
