Following fortnight was spent in usual parades. The weather was warm & we had little to do. On Thursday 27th we shifted up to an encampment in the wood near Mailly. Here we remained doing field work in the neighbourhood of Beaumont Hamel & Serre until early in July when we returned to Beure leaving in turn for Bray on 14th July.
Towards the end of July we entrained for Cassel & billeted at Nieppe until 9th Aug. shifting to Sec Bois via Hazelbrouck. As we passed the latter place the Germans were shelling it with a long range gun
