on Saturday morning & went to Katieh. At 6 oclock Saturday evening we started out for a place about 6 miles beyond Bir el Abd where, according to the aeroplane, 300 turks were encamped. We, going with the 3rd Reg. as supporting force, did not go right out to the scene of action; but according, to an eyewitness, events fell out in this manner. The second Bgde, the attacking force, reached the camp just before dawn & with infinite care completely surrounded it. Then a desultory fire took place during which the aeroplane hearing the firing & having in mind, I suppose
