while a fourth who could not see any harbour of refuge near enough threw himself on the ground & pulled a wooden box over his head!! The shell exploded about thirty yards off & did no damage at all.
Of late there have been rumours of a rest camp being established at Alexandria & getting a weeks leave there, one of the fellows in our tent knows one of the headquarters officers who says that the subject is under discussion. He also declared that things are pointing to the evacuation of El Arish
