cases only a few yds overhead or to the side. We filled up one cart & it went back. Then they got one shrapnel right in killing three horses but luckily only one man, an officer got wounded. While putting him into the cart, the machine gun started again & one got Robertson in the back dangerously to near the spine, however I hear he is going on allright now. Having fixed him up we again went back as fast as ever we could manage to where the regiments' horses were; finally retiring with head quarters after the regiments
