I have fitted myself sketchily for the position of Groon. Crossing sweeper, stevedore, railway porter & warder for a lunatic asylum. In addition I have picked up enough Arabic to swear at the 'wallads', a certain discrimination in the matter of wines & liqueurs & a possibly useful faculty for living, sleeping, & eating anyhow & anywhere.
