Saturday 23/9/16 Quiet day until night 1 man wounded 1 Killed by Minenwerfer
Sunday 24/9/16 Went around trenches meeting of Battn Cmdrs at 18th Hq.
Monday 25/9/16 Visited by Gen;. Birdwood Andrew Fisher & Col Anderson. Trench mortar & Artillery duel Wrote to Doff – received a letter from Doff later.
Tuesday 26/9/16 Had a hard day around trenches, more French mortars 6 men killed.
Wednesday 27/9/16 Relieved by 19th Battalion and went to Ypres in billets again – Bas back also "Tiny" Heath.
Thursday 28/9/16 Had a good rest - saw the General & had a long talk with him. raid by 18th failed Lane wounded by bomb
