Friday 28/7/16 Sent up to organise an attack on German Trenches. our casualties very large.
Saturday 29/7/16 Attack of whole Division failed Our Battalion have suffered very badly. 7th Brigade didn't reach 1st Objective.
Sunday 30/7/16 160 men came into Sausage Valley for a rest – no work of relief.
Monday 31/7/16 quiet night less number of casualties. Some men out for a spell.
Tuesday 1/8/16 – Papers returned re Jackson of Raiding Party Colonel looks tired, have taken his place in the line.
Wednesday 2/8/16 Bombed up O.G. 1 towards Railway but forced to Withdraw, very heavily
