read several magazine articles "Frenzied Fiction" (by Stephen Leacock) an amusing clever selection of stories.   Commenced reading "Red Hand of Ulster" by Birmingham.   Read scrapily through chapters of Mahan's Sea Power & its Influence on History. Visited by Aust. Red Cross Rep. to give me everything I wanted.

Borrowed Garibaldi's "Defence of the Roman Republic" from the Educational Staff at Hospital.   Read some of it, several magazines & an Australian Bulletin & a Hospital publication.

Still in hospital. My face has been worse during the week - cracked very much, but is much better today. Weather mild & cloudy.
