22nd Novr 1918
At Fresnoy le Grand - our last day here. We start our march to Germany tomorrow morning. Tonight at mess, A Coy hs entertained the Curé of Fresnoy who had lived among the Germans for since the commencement of the war. He spoke English slightly. He confirmed the stories I had heard of Bosche barbarism against French civilians & English prisoners. He himself had many personal experiences. The Bavarians stole all his Church ornaments, his vestments & even his altar! They used the Church as a prison for English & French prisoners. He was repeatedly forbidden to preach, but he persisted "I am a Breton [continued on Page 6]
