That the Question of whether the master Can Compell an investigation of the moneyers accounts & thus be Enabled to Decide justly between their interests & those of the Public ought to be Speedily Settled is most Clear, Whether this Should be done by a Quo warranto, a Seine Facies or other Law proceeding or by an Enactment of the house Parliament is a matter of Serious Consideration * it is observable that the Common of 1697 house on the Report of the Commee of 1697 orderd, that Leave be given to bring in a bill for the Regulating the Corporation of moneyers &c which however was not done
The new machinery of the mint is Contrivd to Facilitate Every operation Process of Coinage & while it Carries on all the operations with unexampled Speed, to abridge the Labor & expence of Coinage in the Same proportion but if the master is Compelld to Employ these Charterd workmen at the price they chuse to insist

* The moneyers are undoubtedly Compellable to make the Kings money at any Price H.M. shall Chuse to assign to them, Should they be calld upon to do their duty at a Rate too Small to Pay them, they would be Compelld to Render an account, in order to Shew the amount of their Loss & to pray compensation
