LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

MINUTES NO. 60. WEDNESDAY, 1 SEPTEMBER 1886.
9. VINE DISEASES BILL:–– Dr. Mackellar moved, That this Bill be "now read a second time."
Mr. Suttor moved, That the Question be amended, by the omission of the words "now read a second time," with a view to the insertion in their place of the words, "referred, for consideration
" and report, to a Select Committee, with power to send for persons and papers ; and that such
" Committee consist of the following Members, viz:–– Dr. Mackellar, Mr. Cox, Mr. Norton,
" Mr. King, Mr. Lackey, Mr. Hill, Mr. Jacob, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Suttor."
Debate ensued.
Question,––That the words proposed to be omitted stand part of the Question––put and negatived.
Question,––That the words proposed to be inserted be so inserted––put and passed.
Question then,––That this Bill be referred, for consideration and report, to a Select Committee, with power to send for persons and papers ; and that such Committee consist of the following Members viz. :–– Dr. Mackellar, Mr. Cox, Mr. Norton, Mr. King, Mr. Lackey, Mr. Hill, Mr. Jacob, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Suttor,––put and passed.

6. VINE DISEASES BILL.(Formal Business) :–– Mr. Suttor moved, pursuant to Notice, That leave be
granted to the Committee now sitting on the Vine Disease Bill to visit and inspect the vineyards
said to be infested with Phylloxera Vastatrix at and near Camden Park.
Question put and passed.

6. VINE DISEASES BILL.:––
(1.) Mr. Suttor, as Chairman, brought up the Report from, and laid upon the Table the Minutes of
Proceedings of, and the Evidence taken before, the Select Committee, for whose consideration
and report this Bill was referred on the 1st instant, together with a copy of the Bill as amended
and agreed to in the Committee.
