In reply to your letter No. 2350/3 of the 17th instant enclosing a copy of a letter from The Hon. Mr.Justice Ferguson, Supreme Court, Sydney.
1. Captain Arthur Garders Ferguson is buried in Brewery Orchard Military Cemetery, Bois Grenier. The grave number is at present D32. Plot No.4. His grave has been registered in this office and is marked by a durable wooden cross bearing his name, rank, regiment, and the date of his death.
This is one of the authorised military cemeteries and you may give Mr.Justice Ferguson every assurance that the grave will be carefully looked after.
I have given instructions that a photograph should be taken as soon as possible and six prints forwarded . Perhaps you would kindly point out to Mr.Justice Ferguson that we make it a rule to keep the negatives and it is desirable, from the point of view of our organization that we should do so and we therefore always refuse requests for them. It seems a small request to refuse but you know how overwhelmed we are with this work and every little detail of this kind adds to the burden. I think if we have six copies sent it will be possible to reproduce them in Australia, but perhaps you will let me know
