whichever way I go I am sure to give pain to somebody; but as things stand now, all instructional and staff jobs are going to returned men who had practical experience in what they are teaching the men.
The 5th Training Battalion mess is one of the best I have ever been I Nearly all fine fellows, with of course the usual one or two unfortunate ones. Vick and Nev are both here, and we are expecting Allan to put in an appearance very shortly now. Altogether a very happy family. We even run to a piano, and to hear the songs and choruses after dinner, you wouldn't think there was a camp within miles.
I haven't heard from Mont since he was transferred but think he is in the first Batt. Signallers. Brissenden came down to see me last Sunday and is well though still very dissatisfied.
