<p>[Page 8]</p><p>Melbourne, September 15, 1914.<br />On Tuesday (8th/9) they cancelled our parole and we now have to stay aboard again the whole time. The reason for cancelling our parole was that our 2nd Mate visited the Dutch steamer &quot;Houtman&quot;. The 1st Mate of the &quot;Houtman&quot; had our 2nd Mate arrested. Since the 9th/9 we have to write our letters in English or French; letters written in German will not be posted. On the 9th/9 I received a letter from home and one from Ad. Flocke and a card from H.
