The Australians landed at Gallipoli in early April to conquer the Dardanelles, and have since suffered substantial losses. These losses and especially the scuttling of the Lusitania&nbsp;have greatly agitated the population here. The German clubs and gymnastic squads in Melbourne have all been shut down. But we are still upbeat, because the Russians seem to be close to collapse, according to the latest news.</p>
