[Page 63]

Trial Bay, December 20, 1915. During the week we received a few garments consisting of 1 pair of pants, 1 shirt (woollen), 1 hat, 1 pair of shoes, 1 woollen jacket and a towel. Upon arrival, each of us got 3 blankets, later they gave us palliasses, that is, we had to sew and fill them ourselves. Normally, we just wear a shirt, shorts and sandals here because the weather is quite constant; temperatures don't drop at night like they did in the Liverpool camp, for instance, and thanks to the sea breeze it never gets as hot during the day as it did there.
