7/10/16 Saturday
Dull day – On Picquet. Fritz hopped the parapet at Levantie & Armentiers – he got particular hell in both places – Very few casualtys came in.
8/10/16 Sunday
Dull day – Went out to Rifle Villa about 9 a.m. Lively trench warfare – Had a few calls.
9/10/16 Monday
Drizzling rain. Heavy bombardment from both sides – Got a letter from M. Single. Fritz very busy with deadly minniewurzen, he got some M.G. fellows – one fellow named Jim Harsthorn, although badly injured injured, was a model patient, he was actually singing & joking – as he said to keep himself awake. Les Bowden took on Groom to A.D.M.S.

Nice day – A few calls during the night – Fritz putting over more minnies than shells on supports – Wrote to Frank, Anne & M. Single. Got absolutely my first issue of Red Cross Comfort Fund – received a singlet & pair of underpants - it hurts us fellows to be always in papers etc about the quantitys of comforts etc we are supposed to be getting (it is a case
