The 3rd Army north of Arrar, took 10,000 prisoners & advanced to a depth of three miles – The Canadians assisted in taking Vimy Ridge.
Wednesday 11/4/17
Boisterous – Rain & Snowstorms night & day. Squaring up the Camp – The order still to be in readiness. 4th Div – we heard took several Villages. But were repulsed with losses. Had a bit of a sing song at night – one of the Boys found a Mandolin in one of the Villages and as there are many players we have some fairly good music.
Thursday 12/4/17
Dull to raining – a little snow – last nights fall of snow was the heaviest for a long time. Odd jobbing about the Camp – We have not been called out yet – but we are still in readiness. Got a letter from Bob Plummer.
Friday 13th
Rather a nice day – sunny all day. Just fatiguing about the Camp. General
