Dear Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, under the Seal of the Council, expressing appreciation for the work performed by me, and the Troops under my command, in the Military occupation of the German Possessions in the Pacific.  I thank you sincerely for the congratulations conveyed in your communication, and am pleased to know that the receipt of the German Imperial Flag has given satisfaction to the Municipal Representatives of the Mother City of the Commonwealth.
