Windang Islandthe Island at the entrance to Lake Illawarra
" Noolawong",which means a headland or bluffpoint
Memo"Windang" I understand is not the Aboriginal name of the Island, it has been entered on some of the early maps of the colony as Windang, but this I believe is a mistake- Queen Rosey states that the name of "Gooseberry Island", is "Windang", so called from the red Karrijong that grew there some years ago.
