Peterman an aboriginal native of the Moruya-District who is now 75 yrs old states the reason they called where Moruya now stands - Cobowra was owing to the Moruya River being there crossable on foot where the Bridge now crosses the river on the main Southern Road [indecipherable?] of the old [?] recollects the native name of Moruya
