I beg to send you a copy of Dr Hodgkins' Biographical Sketch of Dr Prichard, and also of a Lecture delivered by me on a very important subject. I also send a dozen copies of the manual of Inquiry.
I have resigned the office of Hon. Secy to the Ethnological Society after seven years service, I mention this circumstance to you as it will give me more time to write to my friends or in other matters of service.
I have long studied a race of people about whose origin we have been entirely ignorant, I mean the Finns of Finland. I am now writing a book on them and I hope to be able to put it in the printers' hands soon. I shall request your acceptance of a copy of it when published.
