In order to celebrate Anzac Day etc, we C. Section brought out a paper, with the title of "The Somme Chat" a real live paper, it consisted of some very fine Articles & puns on Officers & men & things in general. We expect other Sections to come out with one now & hit us off.

Thursday 26/4/17

Very nice day – Drilling all day – Good war news coming thro to us – some 80 Aeroplanes have been brought down this week – Very heavy bombardments on our front – Our Boy's 4th Division got as far as the Hindenburg line, but were driven back not being strong enough. Several pitched Battles in the open.

Friday 27/4/17

Very nice day – Section went for a route march to Meaulte. Good news still comes in from our front, of more Aeroplanes & Prisoners.

Saturday 28/4/17

Very nice day. On Picquet – Complemented on the way we turned out. General Hough gave us a surprise visit. Wrote to Mrs O'Kelly, M Single & Eileen. Big mail in but never got any.
