I am afraid that A.I.E. [Australian Imperial Expeditionary] Force is not understood in the English or Egyptian Post Offices. So please put it in full,

At present, either "England" or "Egypt" will do equally well, as I notice they intercept the former in Egypt. Some clerks seem to have more sense than others; but on the whole the Egyptian Post Office is badly run and we have got no letters for over 4 weeks
