& you mention the post cards from Alexandria (blank ones) but you don't say anything of the letters I sent from Colombo, Aden, Suez & Cairo. I hope you got them, dear wife. I sent a letter card to Ben Patterson last Sunday from Kastron. It should be a curiosity. You get many foreign coins here in change. The commonest Greek coin is the Deca Lepta value 10 to a shilling. They have a hole in the centre, are of nickel, & about the size of a shilling. The chief silver coin is of value of 1/- [shilling]. This island is known amongst sailors as the "Island of winds". I have done a lot of rowing, & marching, & a fair bit of riding. Love to you all, and kind regards to my friends, including Mrs. E. Hempinstall & Mrs. T. Duffy & Mrs Campbell Brown.
Sam.
