Near S.t Helena 16.th December 1792     

Dear Sir
                    I give you joy of the success of your Plants. I am happily arrived with a beautifull[sic] collection in sight of the Island -the number is less than I expected, but as what remains have been preserved with unremitted care and attention, I am sure you will be pleased with the account.  I most sincerely pray you may live to hear they flourish, and to know Thousands are fed with their Fruit -  Posterity will ever remember you for being the means of transmitting to them such an inestimable Jewel. (a)Arrived the 9.th April   On the 18.th July I left Otaheite (a).- I had then of Breadfruit Plants 777 large Pots - 313 Small Pots - 35 Tubs and 26 Boxes.

Of A,ahigh,yahs or Ay,yahs, the Jambo of the East Indies. I had 4 large Pots-31 small Pots & two Tubs.-
Of Rattahs, a kind of Chesnutt,18 large Pots & 7 small Pots.
Of Avees or Vees (the Apple) 8 large Pots 17 small Pots
Oraiahs (the fine Maiden Plantain) 10 Large Pots-7 Small Pots
Vay,eehs (the fine mountain Plantain) 2 large Pots
