I have made no application for Leave; In answer I was informed by Lord Hobart that a proper person would be selected & sent from England to relieve me.  Whether he comes or whether he does not I shall not the less exert myself in a just discharge of the trust reposed in me, however I must here premise that Lord Hobart's letter to me on the Subject was Secret - If Government is satisfied with my Conduct à la bonne heure, If not, I suppose they will relieve me; But I hope not supercede me, as I think I have claims and while my wish is to return to England, the interest of my large family (having now Six Children Four of whom are in England) requires my remaining a Year or Two longer to save a little more from my pay.  As I can assure you £600 a Year goes for my living here & when the Schoolmasters &c Bills in England are satisfied, but little
