In some former Letters I mentioned my reconcilement with Paterson previous to his going to Port Dalrymple.  Since then a general but gradual reconciliation has taken place, in which I have given up no point wherein the Public Wish has required perserverance.  There certainly is every proof Paterson was much influenced by those who thought their interest consisted in the Governor & Lieutt being at Variance, however all this has mostly subsided and I hope never more to appear openly at least in my time and I believe the authors & abitters among the Officers are ashamed of and regret their conduct; As my System throughout has been uniformly been not to let those disputes affect any Kindness or attention on my part to Individuals, which has been most liberally extended to all descriptions without departing from the Line of Propriety.

I am obliged to you for the Nat. Hisy of the Animals of Paraguay which gives a very interesting account respecting the Wild Cattle, and from what has been observed of those on the other side of the Nepean I consider Mr Azara's observations being the result of much practical information.  In a former Letter I mentioned my intention of making an extensive enclosure at a place I visited about 18 Miles beyond the Nepean which appears to be nearly the center of their resort.  But its execution I was necessarily obliged to put [indecipherable] on account of the order to assist Coll Collins by sending him Artificers & forming the Settlement at Port Dalrymple
