ANGUAR ISLAND [Angaur] (Carolines).

A cantilever bridge has been erected on the west side of the island. It is served by three endless belts and the phosphate is placed in the vessel's hold by means of a shute, 200 to 300 tons can be loaded per hour, or 1,000 to 1,200 tons per working day.

Another smaller bridge is to be erected on the N.E.side of the island for use during the bad weather season in the S.W. monsoon.

Population consists of 17 to 18 Germans and 700 to 800 natives. The latter have mostly been recruited from the surrounding islands. Provisions are very scarce.
