Can you obtain any information to confirm or contradict the truth of the attached statement regarding Simpson's Hafen?

Mr Lucas, the Island Manager for Burns, Philps and Coy., Sydney, would probably be able to give some information or assist in this matter.

There was a report in the Melb. Argus about 28th Jan telegraphed from Sydney, of an interview with someone who professed to have been recently at Simpson's Hafen. The Syd. Morning Herald could tell you who telegraphed that report.
I desire you to endeavour to get full information on this subject, & to endeavour to get in touch with some regular source of information.
You may find it desirable to communicate direct with O.C.Q which you are hereby authorised to do. 
This matter is secret, & to be known only to you & the officer whom you select to make inquiries so far as possible. If you write to Capt Pye acquaint him with this fact. I personally believe that it is of moment to us
