guns roaring shells to Fritz tonight.

[June 26]

A birth-day to me because after dinner I went to see T. Donaldson & S. Oliver at Nieppe.  When I got to Nieppe they soon fell in to go to Neive [Neuve] Eglise, but I went with them.  They are cheerful, happy, & brave.  They would give me the last piece of cake & chocolate they had.  On duty from 8 PM to 12, raining & our guns are roaring.  Transport taking the shells at night.
