is likely to arise from the work of our Gold Currency, our Abominable Silver lately the Curse but now the blessing of the nation which did not Circulate Freely as Long as Gold Could be obtaind in 7/ Peices, appears now in Plenty, all the Lesser Traffics of Life proceed with their usual activity, & as Long as we Content ourselves with Silver Currency considerably Depreciated by weak below its nominal value, there will be no temptations to export it & our monetary Currency will go on well
Whenever the time Shall Come that Removes the Shackles fixd by our Enemy on the Commerce of the Continent Shall be unlevid our Gold Currency will be restord to us, till then it is not probable that the exchange will be Sufficiently in our Favor to bring it back, in the meantime we may rejoice when we Consider, that altho we admit that the Power of our arch Enemy has deprived us of our Gold, it is the only impression his arbitrary Edicts have made upon us, while they have provd Ruinous to the interests both of his Subjects & those of his allies & we may indeed be glad
