Constable Edward Loomey [C32?] reports Cause of delay The Const.. has been endeavouring to enlicit information on the subject from old residences in the District, and for this purpose the Const Visited Some of them Several months ago, And has been since trying to get information from the abboriginals much difficulty in getting the abboriginals themselves to help as they did not seem to understand what was required.The return therefore was kept over with a view to making it as full as possible, if the Const. had understood that the time was limited he would have Sent return long ago, trusting his Inspector (Inspr. Lamond Normanton appears in the margin) will look over the Const.. error.
