it was an aboriginal name but was
named after a place in South Africa
In the year 1500 the Portuguese made settlements
on that coast & Sofala was considered a very
rich gold mining country & I believe our
Sofala was named after it the same as
our Mother was named after the supposed
Mother of KIng Soloman
