Re Anthropological Society of Australasia requiring Aborigines name of place, meaning or season why it was given. Senior Sargeant Boyd respectfully returns the attached form in connection with the above and in doing so may state that there are very few aborigines names of places in Windsor Police District, and the few there are it is very difficult to obtain their meaning, our of seventeen names entered on the form seven are left unanswered. There are no aborigines in this district who have any idea of the meaning of the names, and but very few of the old inhabitance of Europeans are able to assist in this work, it was with great difficulty that the meaning of ten names were obtained from some of the old residents, Goerge Boyd Sen. Sergt. A. Latimer Esqr. inspector of Police Parramatta
