My dear James, I was very sorry to hear by your papa's letter that you had lost one of your dear little sisters and that you were all suffering from the same complaint that called her away but I hope by this time you are all well. We are happy to say that we have not had the complaint up here yet: if it please God I trust it will not reach us. Sisters Lizzie and Mary are learning to draw and I think they both do very well for the short time they have been at it.
