¼ loaf) This day will be remembered as long as I live & has my reason.
[Aug. 10]
It was raining a little this morning, the guns are still sending a few to Fritz. I have a very bad head today with the continual roar of the guns. 16th advanced with very little opposition last night. On duty today. A lot of shells from Fritz at tea time. Moving again at 5 PM. Into the first line about 10 PM, there is a bombardment at 12.57 & we hop over, fire lifts at 1 AM. It was a cruel affair, all the ground is shell holes. A lot killed & wounded.
