Wrote to R. Collins.  Lovely district but thinly populated

[July 18]

Had a lovely nights rest a nice warm bed with hay.  Instead of falling in with the Coy we did some signalling practice again.  We have been doing a little practice all day instead of falling in with our Coy, my feet have been nearly crippled but they are improving.  Got paid 14/4 today.  Nice & quiet here, but we expect to move any day.
