My dear wife,

I am still in excellent health in every way. Still on the beach; getting into the 8th week of it. I won't want any seaside holidays for some years. I took a dose of anti cholera vaccine last week, and will have another in a few days. I have not seen any cases of cholera; but it is by way of precaution. There are very few casualties now that our men are so well entrenched. I was in the trenches on Pope's Hill the day before yesterday with Major Glasgow. It is perfectly safe though the Turkish trenches are only 50 yards away. I had dinner with Glasgow in his "dug out". We have got no letters for about 4 weeks; so there will be a big mail someday.
