INTELLIGENCE REPORTS:
Every endeavour should be made to collect all information which will be of Military value, about Neu Britain.
All information already supplied should be checked and verified in every possible way.
Special attention should be paid to the following:-
HARBOURS: Anchorages, facilities or otherwise for landing, Beach and nature of etc., suitable positions for covering landings if disputed, etc. Wharves, Piers, etc.
COMMUNICATIONS: Roads, nature of, width, gradients, whether enclosed by bush or with uninterrupted view, etc. Wireless Stations, Telegraph Lines, etc.
RESOURCES: Supplied, nature, quantity normally to be depended on and source of supply.
WATER: Quantity, quality, source, whether liable to dry up.
INHABITANTS: Number, character, language, facilities for obtaining Interpreters, whether "Pigeon" English fairly generally understood.
ARMAMENT: If any of Whites and Natives.
The British Missionaries are generally invaluable sources for Intelligence.
Maps supplied should be brought up to date as far as possible, and field sketches supplied.
Reports and sketches, etc.to be sent to Brigade Head Quarters.
