of Westport & Southern N.S.Wales coals were rushed there within 3 months; when the hulk & storage sheds were full the balance was stacked on the beach,where most of it still lies.

Considering the whole position it is worth noting that if we accept the official assurances of the present officials that neither a naval nor coaling base is contemplated, yet everything has been arranged that should in the future the German Government change their views all the foundations are laid and the way cleared for the rapid conversion into an ideal fortified depot.
