Waungi ( bks name of a Deep water hole 8 miles from Torhomlea towards Guyndah  Road - blacks would not go near it on account of a black fellow being drowned in it - as they believed a Carpet Snake was in the water and cicled around the black fellow & took him down)         Carpet Snake

Burchur Bks name of Gregory River       -

Burrum River may be from Burra  €‹a bed, or where the Blacks met to get married - or it may be derived from Borowme - Thunder

Bunda         Uncle or Relative      

Bundaberg derives its name from the above - a man named Thompson being a Surveyor employed there and this Black called him Bunda. and when giving the place a name it was called Bunda - and Thompsons son added the berg - a Town So that if this is correct Bundaberg is a compound of Black's [?] and [Norse?]

The act Sergt obtained the forgoing information from the Stely family first settler's here - all the members of this family understood the Bks language and could speak it then fairly well. There ar no Blacks in this District for the last Four 4 or Five 5 years only one half cast - only the Steley family knows more things he does
