In my letter by the Glatton I mentioned my having applied for leave of absence which I find is acceded to and that a person would be selected & sent from England to relieve me.  I hope the Solution will fall on one who has promises & abilities to manage the descriptions of People this Colony is confered of, who only wait an opportunity to undo all that has been done; however when the period arrives which I trust is not far distant of my taking leave of this Country, It will be with a self approving Conscience & Clean Hands, perhaps my large Family will have no reason to thank me, But if they have not a patrimony, I have and shall take care that no part of my conduct shall cause them or any of my friends a Blush.

In speaking of the General State of the Colony I find my Exertions are approved of in the Change made in the internal currency, which I have effected has cost me much, but not more than
