Note
Some of the writing in connection with canoes is
extremely indistinct. What appears to be "out of grey
gum" probably means grey gum bark.
The "stick for ditto" may mean a stick like a
paddle for propelling a canoe.
"Stick" (yam-boo-ra) is followed by two words which
I could not decipher though one looks like
'holding". Probably a stick for holding a canoe
such as one might drive into soil or into a mud bank.
Mr Hewitt gives 'bag-gool" as a gunyer, or bark
shelter, (see previous page) and the same word
for a canoe. Possibly both gunyer and canoe
were made of stringybark.
