beautiful roads which we had not previously seen to Ashley Park the residence of the late Col North. This magnificent property has been acquired by the L.C.C. & is open for the use of the public. The grounds are magnificent with beautiful flower gardens & grass lawns. We had afternoon tea in the grounds & returned home across some fields & thence along the main road. We had tea about 7.30 & then gathered our baggage for departure. Mr Newton had taken some snapshots of us during the afternoon & Mrs Newton took my home address & promised to send them on if they proved a success. Mr & Mrs N came up to the bus with us & though my stay had been so short it hurt me parting from these very
