At 10 pm. we were informed that we would be taken to Singapore the next morning we were of course, very pleased to hear this and started to sing :Die wacht am Rhein" and, after the door had been closed again, "Shou wieder eine Seele von alkohol gerettet."

16th October 1914
Our transfer to Singapore commenced at 6 a.m. We traveled 1st class the N.C.O. 2nd and the men 3rd. An officer of P.V.C. and an escort of about 20 men accompanied us to the station. After having been 38 hours without food we at last got some thing to eat. We were well attended to and could eat and drink as much as we liked. At 7pm we arrived in Kuala Lumpur the residence
