About 5 pm. "Geier" meets us accompanied by a collier "Ulm" which is at least three times the size of "Geier". The commander of "Geier" boards our ship. "Geier" is going to Japan.

We are going south . Weather good.

Passed the line at 4.30. a little later a steamer is in sight. She carries the Japanese flag. After showing the English flag we let her pass.

We have entered the Indian Ocean through the Malucca strait.
